Pausing or canceling your subscription
Last updated 4/22/2026
Life happens. Summer break, a new baby, a temporary budget squeeze — you don't need to justify it to us. Here's how to pause or cancel, what happens to your data, and how to come back if you change your mind.
Pause vs. cancel
We offer two options:
Pause
- Freezes billing for 1, 2, or 3 months.
- App access continues until the end of the current billing period.
- Automatically resumes at the same plan and price when the pause ends.
- Useful if you know you'll be back — family vacation, a holiday, etc.
Cancel
- Stops future billing immediately.
- Access continues through the end of the current billing period you already paid for.
- After that, your account drops to the Free tier — Chapter 1 stays playable.
- Progress is preserved forever. When you come back, everything picks up where it left off.
How to pause
- Go to Billing in the parent portal.
- Click Manage subscription.
- Choose Pause and pick 1, 2, or 3 months.
- Confirm. We send a confirmation email.
During the pause, you still have full access until your current period ends, so the kids can finish a chapter they're partway through.
How to cancel
- Go to Billing.
- Click Manage subscription → Cancel.
- Tell us why (optional — helps us improve).
- Confirm.
We immediately stop future charges. You'll get an email receipt.
Data retention
We never delete progress when you cancel. Here's our full retention policy:
- Progress data — kept indefinitely, as long as the parent account exists
- Subscription records — kept for 7 years (required by U.S. tax law)
- Child profiles — kept indefinitely unless you delete the child
- Account deletion — if you delete your parent account entirely, everything is wiped in 30 days
Re-activating
Come back anytime:
- Sign in at rocketphonics.com/login.
- Go to Billing → Reactivate.
- Pick a plan. Your old children, progress, and settings are all still there.
No penalty, no fees, no "welcome back" upsell emails.
Common questions
What if I cancel mid-month? You keep access until the end of the period. If you paid $7.99 on March 1 and cancel on March 15, you still have access until March 31.
What if I bought the yearly plan? Cancel anytime; you keep access through the paid year. No prorated refund by default, though we'll consider one on a case-by-case basis through the refund policy.
Does my child lose their avatar? No — every profile and every bit of earned progress stays exactly as-is.
Will you keep charging me? Only if auto-renew is on. Canceling turns it off.
