Gift subscriptions

You can gift a full year of RocketPhonics to a friend, family member, or — through our Buy One, Give One program — a child who couldn't otherwise afford it. Here's how each option works.

Gifting a specific person

Head to rocketphonics.com/gift. You'll:

  1. Choose the plan — Solo yearly ($49) is our standard gift size. Family ($14.99/month, 12 months) is also available.
  2. Enter the recipient's email (or leave blank to print the redemption code yourself).
  3. Write an optional message — shows up in the email we send them.
  4. Pay with any card via Stripe.

Within one minute, we send the recipient an email with a redemption code and a link. When they click through, they get a sign-up form pre-stamped with the gift — no card required on their end. They can redeem anytime in the next 12 months.

You, the giver, get a receipt and a status page that shows whether the code has been redeemed.

Gifting without an email

If you're planning to print a card, pick "Email me the code instead" during checkout. We send the code to your inbox; print it and tuck it into a birthday card. The recipient enters the code at rocketphonics.com/redeem.

Buy One, Give One

Every paid gift automatically includes one sponsored year for a child in a program we partner with. You don't pay extra — the cost is built into the gift price. Once we place your gift with a recipient family, you'll get an update email. We don't share the child's identity (privacy reasons) but we do share the impact numbers once a year.

Gifts vs. donations

This confuses people, so a quick clarification:

  • Gift subscription = you pay, a specific person gets a subscription. Tax-neutral, not deductible.
  • Donation = you pay, we route 100% of it to a nonprofit partner (Reading Partners, ProLiteracy). Tax-deductible in the U.S. Use the impact page to donate.

Both are valid, both help. Gifts go to someone you know; donations go to the literacy movement.

Redeeming a code someone gave you

  1. Go to rocketphonics.com/redeem.
  2. Paste the redemption code from the email or card.
  3. If you don't have an account yet, we'll prompt you to create one. The gift attaches automatically.
  4. Open the app and you're in.

Expired or lost codes

Codes are valid for 12 months from issue. If yours has expired, or you can't find the email, contact support with the gift-giver's email or your own email — we'll look it up and reissue.

Refunds on gifts

An unredeemed gift is fully refundable within 14 days. A redeemed gift is not — the recipient is already using the service — but their subscription runs to the full 12 months regardless.
